HLT20113 Certificate II in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
Applications for this course are open only to people who identify as being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent who are employed in a health care environment.
How is the course delivered?
The Certificate II in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care is delivered flexibly. This is a foundation course for those employed in a health care environment and will provide participants with skills and knowledge required to perform their jobs. Some skills will be practiced and developed in a simulated environment and some will be assessed on-the-job.
Participants will complete 7 core and 3 elective units to achieve the qualification of HLT20113.
HLTAHW001 Work with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients and communities
HLTAHW002 Support clients to obtain access to health services
HLTAHW003 Provide basic health information to clients
HLTAHW004 Perform work role in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary health care context
HLTAID003 Provide first aid
HLTIN301C Comply with infection control policies and procedures
HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety
BSBCMM201A Communicate in the workplace
BSBITU101A Operate a personal computer
BSBMED305B Apply the principles of confidentiality, privacy and security within a medical environment

Recognition of prior learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the formal acknowledgment of skills, knowledge and competencies already obtained through: formal or informal study, experience in the workplace, life experience including voluntary work, domestic or social activities.
Credit transfers will apply where participants provide original versions of Statements of Attainment for the same unit of competency achieved at another RTO.
All participants receive a Statement of Attainment for completed units.
Sealed Certificates (Testamurs and Results sheets) are issued to those participants who complete all requirements of the qualification.
